Airworthiness Directives

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Czech Republic issues Airworthiness Directives (AD’s) in accordance with aviation regulation L 8 Chapter II part 4.2. Airworthiness Directives are issued when an unsafe condition has been found to exist in particular aircraft, engine, propellers, or appliances installed on aircraft, and that condition is likely to exist or develop in other aircraft, engines, propellers, or appliances of the same type design.

Once an AD is issued, no person may operate a product to which the AD applies except in accordance with the requirements of that AD.

CAA publishes AD’s for aircraft registered in the Aircraft Register of the Czech Republic.

AD’s for aircraft (products) transferred under EASA competence are AD’s issued by EASA and published on EASA website.

CAA publishes only Emergency AD’s and AD’s for aircraft (products) indicated in Annex II of Basic Regulation (EC) No. 2018/1139.

Issuing of AD is provided in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) No. 748/2012 and EASA Internal Working Procedures – Continuing Airworthiness Type Design (CAP) in last revision.

CAA has been issuing Airworthiness Directives since January 1, 1996. Before this date a system of Mandatory Bulletins (MB’s) assuring safe operation was used. This system was based on MB’s issued by the manufacturer and approved by CAA (formerly CAI). Compliance with MB’s was mandatory for all Czech operators.
